Minors

Students giving a presentation in classBusiness touches our lives every day. From retail purchases and on-line shopping to interaction with governmental agencies, we carry on business related transactions. The goods and services we expect as a nation are provided by many diverse organizations. Individuals outside of industry, such as physicians, educators, military officers, and social workers, must also use business skills as they progress further in their respective organizations. Indeed, most jobs available for graduates are business related. Dealing with these various constituencies calls for business knowledge and savvy.

Regardless of major, all students benefit from a minor in business. The eighteen hours required for the minor in business give the student a broad sense of the nature of business (BUS 150), the accounting process (ACTG 201), and the economy that we live in (ECON 203). In addition to the basic business courses required for the minor, students can choose from a variety of business subject areas to fill out the minor.
